Matthew Roberts joined the litigation team at JRSND in 2021, bringing a decade of trial and appellate experience in both state and Federal courts. For years, Matthew defended insurance carriers and their policyholders in coverage and bad faith, wrongful death, and product liability litigation. In 2019 he transitioned to the plaintiffs’ bar, representing consumers in mass litigation against global manufacturers. He has been trial counsel in a wide range of matters, including tort, contract, business litigation, contested probate, and corporate shareholder disputes. His appellate advocacy includes all briefing and oral arguments in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and assorted appeals from orders in consumer rights cases. Matthew also formerly worked as a research analyst on the trading floor of a macro hedge fund. Outside of work, he likes backpacking, classical piano, calisthenics, and Australian Shepherds.
